As Kaffeemacher
, we run a coffee school in Basel, Switzerland. In our courses, we teach coffee knowledge from plant to cup—roasting, sensory analysis, and barista skills. This knowledge isn’t abstract, but comes from our daily practice. In Nicaragua, we operate the Santa Rita coffee farm, in Basel a roastery and the Café Frühling, as well as the Kaffeemacher Café at Basel SBB train station.
Our team is led by German and Swiss coffee champions. Benjamin Hohlmann was the 2017 German Cup Tasters Champion and the 2014 Swiss Brewers Cup Champion. Philipp Schallberger was a two-time Swiss Barista Champion. Felix Hohlmann is the 2024 German Barista Champion, a Vice-Roasting Champion in Switzerland, and a four-time Swiss Barista Vice-Champion. #Kaffeemacher
