A coffee machine measuring spoon is typically used to ensure you’re using the correct amount of ground coffee for brewing. Here’s how you can use it effectively:
1. Know the Standard Measurement:
A standard coffee machine measuring spoon usually holds 7-10 grams of coffee grounds, which is typically enough for 1 cup (about 125-150 ml) of brewed coffee.
If your machine’s manual provides specific measurements, follow those for the best results.
2. Scoop the Ground Coffee:
Use the spoon to scoop the ground coffee from its container. Level off the top of the spoon with a flat edge, like a knife or the back of another spoon, to ensure an accurate measure.
3. Add to Coffee Machine:
Pour the measured coffee grounds into the filter or coffee compartment of your machine.
Use 1 spoonful for each cup of coffee you’re brewing. Adjust the quantity based on your taste preference (e.g., a stronger cup may need a little more).
4. Adjust for Taste:
You can experiment by using slightly more or less coffee to adjust the strength of your brew. Typically, 1.5 to 2 measuring spoons are used for larger or stronger cups of coffee.
If your coffee machine didn’t come with a specific measuring spoon, you can use a kitchen tablespoon as a close alternative since 1 tablespoon holds about 5-7 grams of coffee.
